Our Past Projects :: Training Camps2005-2006 Training Camp:- Sophie Jan Kalyan Samiti, 14/80, Civil Lines, Kanpur organized a Training Camp in Nagar Palika Parishad, Bilari, Distt. Moradabad under N.S.D.P. scheme financed by Urban Development Authority . Selection of beneficiaries was made by C.D.S. in an open meeting, in which the specialists gave the information of Durri (Carpet) knitting by new technology, so that the feeling of self employment may be created amongst women and trainees were also told that they can get loans from the banks on low interest. After 3 months training trainees were given certificates and encouragement stipend of 350.00 by the Executive Officer. 2007-2008 Training Readymade Garments SOPHIE JAN KALYAN SAMITI, 14/80, Civil Lines, Kanpur organised a three-month Readymade Garments Training programme at its office for women for their all-round development and to add them to the mainstream of self-employment/self-dependence. During the training, the trainees were provided with training material as required as per government norms and standard. Scheduled castes, Backward Classes and others were given 2008-2009 Vocational Training SOPHIE JAN KALYAN SAMITI runs vocational training programme for youth & adolescents. These vocational trainings are being provided to the beneficiaries at vocational training centres established in target areas. Well-trained and experienced instructors are teaching beneficiaries in the vocational training centers. SOPHIE JAN KALYAN SAMITI has been conducting these vocational training sessions for adolescents of poor, deprived and neglected section of the society since it’s establishment. Organization has expertise to conduct vocational training programme as it has long experience in the same field. Following table gives a brief vocational training programme run by the organization:
Women’s Training Programme Formation of Women Groups : 55 SHGs have been formed in the working areas and all are functioning smoothly. Self Help Groups are formed among men & women both. There are 546 beneficiaries are being covered under this programme. Women & Youth Groups : SOPHIE JAN KALYAN SAMITI has formed women’s and Young Girls groups in various areas. These groups are being formed with the view to cater different audience with special attention Awareness Generation Camp: Various awareness generation camps among women have been organized during financial year 2004-07. SOPHIE JAN KALYAN SAMITI organizes Legal Awareness Camps for women, in which they participate in large numbers in these awareness camps. Following issues are being coved during these camps:a) Family Law: Rights as daughter wife and daughter- in – law; b) Marriage Law: Matrimonial Remedies breach of marital trust by way of adultery, dowry, bride price, divorce, domestic violence and brutality. c) Criminal Law: Sexual abuse or other molestation, girl – trafficking and prostitution due to inevitable circumstance and economic factors, torture and atrocity at the hands of in-laws, humiliation for not giving a male birth, eve-teasing, ill-teasing, ill-treatment by step-children d) Fundamental Rights and its relevance to Women: Rights to property, education, employment, wages participant in social activities. e) Registering complaints with the police station, courts, Women Commissions, Crime against women cell etc. f) Law relating Alcoholism, drug etc.
